- Coated with a 10-14 Mil PVC Coating
- Scratch Resistant PVC Coating Lasts Longer than Poly Powder Coated Fittings & Offers Enhanced Rust Protection
- Use for Residential or Light Commercial Projects
Our heavy mil vinyl coated tension bands are a premium product that feature a 10 - 14 millimeter thick pvc vinyl coating that provides greater rust protection and longer lasting color performance than economy bands with a poly powder coat. They are ideal for residential and commercial chain link fencing projects where the focus is on durability and long lasting color. Flat tension bands are typically used for lighter gauge chain link projects because they are thinner and more economical than beveled tension bands, which are used on commercial and industrial projects.
Tension Bands are used to connect chain link fabric to terminal posts, gate frames, and fence panels. They hold the stretched fabric, and tension bar, in place with a carriage bolt. Each post (or framework) will have multiple tension bands, depending on the height; typically tension bands are spaced every 12 inches, but may be spread out to every 18 inches. Use one less tension band than the height of your fence, in feet. So, for example, a 6' tall fence would require 5 tension bands, and so on. These bands are hot-dip galvanized to protect against rust.
There is a minimum order quantity of 10 for each of our heavy-mil vinyl coated fittings. All heavy-mil fittings are coated to order and are not returnable.

Place the tension band around your post (or gate / panel frame). Stretch your fabric until the tension bar fits inside the arms of the tension band and you can insert the 5/16" x 1-1/4" carriage bolt. Tighten the nut to secure.
Tip: You can paint your galvanized carriage bolts using a rust inhibiting spray paint to match your chain link fittings.
