Aluminum Dome Post Caps are used on chain link terminal posts - corner posts, end posts, and gate posts. The caps fit on the post snugly, and serve to keep water out and insects out. Aluminum caps are usually used on residential chain link fences, and pressed steel caps are used on commercial fences. Since the caps do not bear weight or stress, however, you can use aluminum caps or pressed steel caps on either. If you are using aluminum fittings throughout the rest of your fence, then you would probably want to stick to aluminum caps, and vice versa.
Choosing between Acorn or Dome caps is really a matter of personal preference, and dependent on which look you want to achieve. Functionally, there is little difference between the two.

Installation
Place Aluminum Dome Cap over top of your chain link post and tap it down with a hammer or mallet (preferred for aluminum).

Great Caps
Far superior to the ones found at the "big box" store if you can even find this size. They are nice and heavy, not made as thin and light as possible, and should last just this side of forever. You can't go wrong with these.
