Buying Guide
Choose your post type based on the number of horizontal rails per fence section:
- 2-Rail Fence: Use 2-rail posts with two matching rails
- 3-Rail Fence: Use 3-rail posts with three matching rails
- 4-Rail Fence: Use 4-rail posts with four matching rails

- Can I use these posts with non-Catalyst rails? No. These posts are routed for Catalyst’s 2" x 6" TimberGrain ribbed rails.
- What is the spacing between posts? Posts must be installed 6' apart (on center).
- Are these posts structural? They are designed to support ranch rail fencing, but for gate or load-bearing posts, a steel post insert or stiffener is recommended.
- Do the posts come with caps? Post caps are typically sold separately. Choose from flat, pyramid, or decorative cap options in matching finishes.
- Is there a difference between 2-, 3-, and 4-rail posts? Yes. Each version is routed with a different number of slots to accommodate the corresponding number of horizontal rails.
