Installation
Attach the included mounting guides to one of your swing gates using the included screws. Slide the cane bolt through the glides. Mark the spot where the cane bolt rests on the ground when the gate is close. Drive a steel or pvc pipe into the ground at the marked spot so that the cane bolt can slide down into the pipe. You can also use a drive-able centerstop, which will hold more than one cane bolt.
If installing in concrete, drill a hole all the way through the concrete (for drainage), and slide the cane bolt down into that hole - no need to use pipe for concrete installations.
Tip: If your black drop rod gets scratched, or if the coating gets damaged during use, use a matching rust resistant spray paint to cover the exposed steel. Doing so will prolong the life of your rod, and will ensure that it continues to look great.
