OZ-Post T6-700 Post Anchors are designed to be used with the OZ-Deck plate for load bearing applications: decks, tree houses, deer stands, etc. The T6-700 is not for use with Fence Posts or applications where the OZ-Deck plate is not being used (use the T6-850 for other projects with 6 x 6 posts). The unique design of the T6-700 allows it to fit on the OZ-Deck plate perfectly, creating a secure connection that both stabilizes the post and provides weight bearing functionality
T6-700 anchors can actually be driven into the ground in 3 ways:
- Insert a spare piece of 6x6 into the OZ-Post sleeve so that it sits 5-6" above the sleeve height. Use a sledge hammer to pound down on the wood, driving the anchor in the ground. This technique is good installing a small number of OZ-Posts in a reasonable amount of time.
- Use the Manual Driving Kit plus an HSP-T6 spacer, which uses weight and gravity, to drive the T6-850 OZ-Posts into the ground.
- Use the Jackhammer Driver Kit (JDK) and a HSP-T6 Spacer, along with a rented jackhammer to drive in as many OZ-Posts as you need. This is the quickest and least labor intense way, but may not be as cost effective for small projects (1-6 posts)
Why Choose This
- Concrete-free workflow — Set footings and frame the same day
- Cleaner jobsites — Minimal soil disturbance; great where excavation is impractical
- System-matched — Designed to work with OZ-Deck® OD-T4 plates for predictable results

Installation
Lay out footing locations and call 811 to locate utilities. Place an OD-T4 OZ-Deck® plate on each mark. Using a manual or jackhammer driver kit, drive the T6-700 through the plate until the sleeve is at grade and the plate bears on the ground. Insert the 6×6 post and fasten through the sleeve with exterior-grade screws/bolts. Repeat per your framing plan. In rocky soils, pre-drill or choose an alternate footing method as needed.

Buying Guide
- Use with deck plates: T6-700 is intended for OZ-Deck® foundations. For stand-alone 6×6 posts without plates, use T6-850.
- Quantity planning: One T6-700 per post location; match count to your OD-T4 plates and framing layout.
- Tools: Small projects can use a manual driver; larger decks go faster with a jackhammer driver kit.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need concrete?
- No. When used with OZ-Deck® plates, this system creates a load-bearing footing without digging or concrete.
- Can I use T6-700 without a deck plate?
- It’s designed to be used with OZ-Deck® plates. For 6×6 posts without plates (e.g., fence runs), use T6-850 instead.
- What size post does it fit?
- Nominal 6×6 (actual 5-1/2″×5-1/2″) wood posts.
- Is it compatible with treated lumber?
- Yes. The hot-dip galvanized finish is suitable for contact with ACQ-treated wood.
- Will it work in rocky or asphalt areas?
- Often, yes. Many installs can be driven through asphalt and around small rocks; solid bedrock may require pre-drilling or a different footing.
